Car Blast Near Delhi’s Red Fort
A powerful blast in a car near the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi on Monday evening, November 10, 2025, has left at least 8 people dead and more than 20 injured. The incident has prompted a high alert across the country.
According to reports, the explosion occurred around 7 PM at a traffic signal on Subhash Marg, near Gate 1 of the metro station. Home Minister Amit Shah confirmed that the blast originated from a Hyundai i20 vehicle. The explosion was reportedly powerful, with the Delhi Fire Department stating that three to four other cars were engulfed in the resulting fire and sustained damage.
High-Level Response and Investigation Underway
Multiple high-level agencies have responded to the incident. Teams from the Delhi Police Crime Branch and Special Branch arrived at the scene within 10 minutes of the blast. They have been joined by national security agencies, including the National Security Guard (NSG), the National Investigation Agency (NIA), and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) teams, who have begun a thorough investigation.
Home Minister Amit Shah stated that all surrounding CCTV footage is being collected and reviewed. “We are considering all possibilities,” Shah said, assuring that all angles would be immediately investigated and the findings made public.
Later in the evening, around 9:30 PM, Home Minister Shah visited the Lok Nayak (LNJP) Hospital to meet the victims and assess the situation. He also held a meeting with Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha and other senior officials at the hospital.
National Leaders React to the Tragedy
The blast drew immediate reactions from across the political spectrum.
* Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his sorrow on social media, writing, “Saddened by the blast in Delhi. Condolences to the families of the deceased. Praying for the speedy recovery of the injured. Officials are helping the affected. I have reviewed the situation with Home Minister Amit Shah and other officials.”
