Aryan Khan’s Directorial Debut With “The Ba***ds of Bollywood”
MUMBAI, India – The star-studded preview of “The Ba***ds of Bollywood” held in Mumbai on August 20, 2025, highlighted not just Aryan Khan’s directorial debut but also an emotional reunion between his father Shah Rukh Khan and veteran actor Bobby Deol.
The evening took a trip down memory lane when Shah Rukh Khan candidly recalled Bobby Deol’s debut in the 1995 film “Barsaat”. He confessed to the audience, “Itna handsome man maine zindagi me nahi dekha tha…” and reminisced about how Deol’s good looks inspired him even before the film’s release.
The two friends, whose bond has endured through the ups and downs of their careers, embraced each other in an emotional hug on stage. Shah Rukh Khan praised Deol, calling him a “real superstar” and an unwavering friend who has always been a source of mutual support.
Bobby Deol, who appeared emotional, shared his perspective on this historic event. He saw Aryan grow from a young boy to a confident filmmaker, and described the moment as “magical and surreal”. Deol, who is part of the series’ cast, said that he instantly accepted the role after being impressed by Aryan’s “conviction and passion” throughout the seven-hour story. He praised the young director’s strong acting and ability to bring the soul of the story alive and called the series “a truly remarkable venture”.
The series(The Ba***ds of Bollywood), which also stars Shah Rukh Khan in a cameo role, is set to stream on Netflix from September 18.
