South Africa Squad For England Tour
South Africa have announced their squad for the upcoming limited overs tour of England, which includes a mix of experienced and promising players. The Proteas will play three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three T20 Internationals in England and Wales between September 2 and 14.
This includes veteran players David Miller, Donovan Ferreira and Keshav Maharaj, who are making a comeback in the T20I squad after being out of the field for some time. All-rounder Marco Jansen and fast bowler Lizaad Williams have also recovered from injuries and are part of the new squad.
Injury management and strategic selection
Kagiso Rabada, who was ruled out of the recent ODI series against Australia due to ankle inflammation, has been included in both the ODI and T20I squads. However, the team management has stressed on being cautious about his return. Head coach Shukri Conrad has confirmed that Rabada’s participation in the ODI series in England will be reconsidered, with the side primarily focusing on T20 cricket.
Captain Temba Bavuma will lead the ODI side, although his workload will be closely monitored throughout the series. According to the management, this reflects the approach adopted during the recent series against Australia.

Spinner and all-rounder in focus in South Africa Squad
The selectors have shown new confidence in the spin department and welcomed the return of Keshav Maharaj, whose experience and leadership are expected to bolster the squad. Another spin-bowling all-rounder Senuran Muthusamy has retained his place, indicating that the team intends to explore more spin bowling options in English conditions.
Speaking about the selections, the coaching staff highlighted Donovan Ferreira’s aggressive lower-order batting and valuable experience from international leagues like The Hundred as the key reasons for his return.

Tour Schedule
South Africa will begin their tour with the ODI series followed by the T20Is. The last time the Proteas toured England in 2022, they drew the ODI series 1-1 and won the T20I leg 2-1.
With several players fully fit and a balance of young and experienced players in both squads, South Africa will aim to continue their momentum and fine-tune their combination ahead of future ICC events.
