Kuldeep and Dube Demolish UAE as India Registers Mammoth 9-Wicket Victory

Asia Cup 2025: India won by 9 Wickets Against UAE

India delivered a commanding and clinical performance, crushing the United Arab Emirates by 9 wickets in a T20I match that lasted a mere 17.4 overs in total. An exceptional bowling display, led by Player of the Match Kuldeep Yadav, saw the hosts skittled for just 57 runs, a target India’s batters chased down with astonishing ease in just 4.3 overs.

After Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav opted to bowl first, UAE’s openers Alishan Sharafu and Muhammad Waseem provided a brief period of stability. Sharafu was the more aggressive of the two, scoring a team-high 22 off 17 balls. The pair put on 26 for the first wicket, which would deceptively be the highest partnership of their innings.

The introduction of India’s spin and medium pace attack triggered a dramatic collapse. Jasprit Bumrah made the initial breakthrough, but it was Kuldeep Yadav who completely dismantled the UAE batting lineup. In a mesmerizing spell, the wrist-spinner claimed an outstanding 4 wickets for just 7 runs in his 2.1 overs. He was brilliantly supported by all-rounder Shivam Dube, who proved equally devastating, snatching 3 wickets for a miserly 4 runs in his two overs.

From a hopeful 26-1, UAE crumbled under pressure, losing their last nine wickets for just 31 runs. They were eventually bundled out for 57 in the 14th over, with only two batters reaching double figures.

Facing a paltry target of 58, India’s intentions were clear from the very first ball. Opener Abhishek Sharma set the tone by dispatching the first delivery of the innings for a six, joining a select list of Indian batters to achieve the feat. He blasted a quickfire 30 from 16 balls, including three sixes and two fours, before being the sole Indian wicket to fall.

Shubman Gill (20* off 9) and captain Suryakumar Yadav (7* off 2) ensured there were no further hiccups. Gill played a blistering unbeaten knock, while Yadav finished the match in his trademark style with a six, sealing a dominant victory with a staggering 93 balls to spare.

The win ranks as one of India’s most comprehensive in T20I history in terms of balls remaining, and the entire match, lasting only 106 legal deliveries, is now one of the shortest completed T20Is involving a Full Member nation.
