Palash Muchhal Confirms He Will Marry Cricketer Smriti Mandhana
Music director Palash Muchhal has officially confirmed his impending marriage to Smriti Mandhana, the vice-captain of the Indian women’s cricket team. The filmmaker put an end to long-standing media speculation during an event at the State Press Club in his hometown of Indore on Friday.
Addressing reporters, Muchhal announced the news with a heartfelt statement. “She will soon become the daughter-in-law of Indore… that’s all I want to say,” he revealed, before humorously adding, “I’ve given you the headline.”
The couple’s relationship has been a topic of interest for some time, with frequent appearances together on social media, though they had previously never confirmed it publicly.
The announcement came as Mandhana was in Indore for an ICC Women’s World Cup ODI match against England. Showing his support, Muchhal extended his best wishes to the entire team. “My best wishes are with Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti (Mandhana). We always want the Indian cricket team to win every match and bring glory to the country,” he stated.
Muchhal, 30, is a noted music composer, often collaborating with his sister, Palak Muchhal, on Bollywood films. He is also stepping into film direction with his upcoming movie, Raju Bajewala, which stars Avika Gor and Chandan Roy.
