Shubman Gill Takes Over ODI Captaincy

In a significant move ahead of preparations for the upcoming ODI World Cup, Shubman Gill has been appointed the new ODI captain, replacing Rohit Sharma. The 26-year-old Gill, who already captains the Test team, will become India’s 28th captain in men’s ODIs. Shreyas Iyer will be his vice-captain.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli Return

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will return to the national team for the three-match ODI leg of the tour, marking their first appearances in seven months.  This superstar duo last played for India in the final of the Champions Trophy 2025 in New Zealand, which the Indian team won by four wickets in Dubai.
