BSNL registers a quarterly profit of close to 262 crore for the FIRST TIME in 17 years

BSNL( Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) has recorded a net profit of Rs. 262 crore after 17 years in the December quarter of financial year 2025. Since 2007 company has not reported any quarterly profit before this quarter.

BSNL is a central government owned wireless telecommunications service provider which was established in 2000 and company has more than 50000 employees.

BSNL Q3 Results

Company has announced its third quarter financial statement on 14 February 2025 and company’s EBITDA doubles in last four years. Company has reported 262 crore profit in Q3 of financial year 2025. Company returns in profitability after almost 17 year so this is a very good sign for the future plans of the company.

Key facts of BSNL Q3 results

Company’s subscribers base has risen in this quarter. In the June, company has 8.4 crore subscribers but in the statement subscribers of the company has risen to about 9 crore in the December.
BSNL’s mobility services revenue rose by 15 percent, Fiber-To-The-Home(FTTH) revenue also increased by 18 percent and leased line services revenue grew by 14 percent from the same quarter of financial year 2024.
In the report of quarter 3 financial results company has underlined that company has focused on innovation, network expansion, cost optimization and customer service improvement.

Strategic Moves and 4G Expansion

BSNL has been enhancing customer offerings with services like National WiFi Roaming, BiTV(free entertainment for mobile users), IFTV(for FTTH customers) and India’s first private 5G connectivity for mining. BSNL is now fully focused on nationwide 4G rollout. ” Out of one lakh planned towers company has already installed seventy five towers and close to sixty thousand commissioned.
Union Minister for Telecommunications Jyotiraditya Scindia hailed it as “significant turning point” for BSNL. Scindia has also said that “we aim to have all towers operational by the June this year.”

BSNL is an unlisted company because government of India is holding 100% of the share capital of BSNL so BSNL is not listed on any stock exchange.
