New Delhi, India – Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) has concluded its financial year 2024-25 with a declining quarter on quarter performance, highlighted by significant profits in the fourth quarter and a recommended final ONGC dividend that underscores the company’s commitment to shareholder returns. The Board of Directors, in its meeting held on May 21, 2025, approved the Audited Financial Results for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2025, and proposed a final dividend.

ONGC Q4 profit Decline

For the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2025, ONGC reported a standalone profit for the period of ₹6,448.28 crore. This is compared to ₹9,869.37 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year (March 31, 2024) and ₹8,239.92 crore in the preceding quarter (December 31, 2024). The revenue from standalone operations for Q4 FY25 stood at ₹34,982.23 crore, showing a slight increase from ₹34,636.69 crore in Q4 FY24 and also an increase from ₹33,716.80 crore in Q3 FY25. Total standalone income for the quarter was ₹37,056.92 crore.

ONGC Full year F25 Results

Looking at the full standalone fiscal year 2024-25, ONGC posted a good profit of ₹35,610.32 crore but decrease from ₹40,525.96 crore in the previous fiscal year. Revenue from operations for the entire year was ₹137,846.29 crore, slightly down from ₹138,402.13 crore in FY24. The basic earnings per share (EPS) for the full standalone fiscal year 2024-25 was ₹28.31, compared to ₹32.21 in FY24.

On a consolidated basis, ONGC’s revenue from operations for the quarter ended March 31, 2025, was ₹170,811.73 crore, with total consolidated income reaching ₹173,788.62 crore. For the entire consolidated fiscal year 2024-25, the revenue from operations stood at ₹663,262.31 crore, and total income was ₹675,655.88 crore.

The Board of Directors has recommended a final ONGC dividend of ₹1.25 per equity share, representing 25% of the face value of ₹5 per share, for the Financial Year 2024-25. This final ONGC dividend is subject to the approval of shareholders at the upcoming Annual General Meeting. This proposed ONGC dividend, amounting to ₹1,573 crore, is in addition to two interim dividends already declared for the same fiscal year. ONGC had previously announced a first interim dividend of ₹6 per share (120%) on November 11, 2024, and a second interim dividend of ₹5 per share (100%) on January 31, 2025. Cumulatively, the total ONGC dividend for FY25 will reach ₹12.25 per share.

In other significant decisions, the Board also granted approval for extending corporate guarantee support of up to ₹20,000 crore to ONGC Petro additions Limited (OPaL), a subsidiary, to assist in raising debts. Furthermore, Shri Ajit Singh has been appointed as the new Chief Internal Audit of the Company, effective immediately. These strategic moves underscore ONGC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its financial position, support its subsidiaries, and ensure robust internal oversight.
