Hyderabad, India – The political drama series “Mayasabha: Rise of the Titans,” created by Deva Katta, has premiered to significant praise, capturing the attention of viewers with its nuanced and seemingly unbiased storytelling. Story Of Mayasabha
“Mayasabha” is a fictionalized retelling of events based on the volatile political landscape of Andhra Pradesh between the 1970s and 1990s. The nine-episode series, co-directed and co-written by Deva Katta and Kiran Jay Kumar, dramatizes the journey of two prominent political figures, Kakarla Krishna Naidu and M.S. Rami Reddy, as they evolve from close friends into fierce political rivals.
According to a report from Hindustan Times, the story draws inspiration from the real-life political journeys of Nara Chandra Babu Naidu and Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy. Aadhi Pinisetty, who plays Chandra Babu Naidu’s character, and Chaitanya Rao, who takes on the role inspired by Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, lead a stellar cast that includes Sai Kumar, Divya Dutta, and Nassar. Sai Kumar portrays a character based on the legendary NTR, while Nassar plays a media baron, Ramoji Rao.
The series is produced by Vijay Krishna Lingamaneni and Sree Harsha under the banner of Hitmen & Proodos Productions LLP. Viewers and critics have lauded Deva Katta for his bold approach in tackling controversial subjects, including the caste system and local politics of the late 80s, without fear. The filmmaker, known for his cult classic “Prasthanam,” seems to have found his footing again after a series of setbacks, delivering what many are calling a “smash hit.”
The show’s reception has been overwhelmingly positive, with many praising its gripping narrative and powerful dialogues. The creators have successfully showcased how external factors can drive two friends apart and transform them into political adversaries, eventually leading them to become Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh.
With the first season proving to be a resounding success, Deva Katta has confirmed that a second season is already in the works and is expected to be released in 2026, building on the political saga that has captivated audiences. “Mayasabha” is currently available for streaming on SonyLIV’s OTTplay Premium.
