Legends unite: Mammootty and Mohanlal lead a star-studded cast in the political thriller ‘Patriot’
The Malayalam film industry is eagerly awaiting the release of the title teaser for the magnum opus ‘Patriot’. The film marks the spectacular on-screen reunion of two of the industry’s biggest legends, Mammootty and Mohanlal, sparking a wave of excitement on social media. Directed by acclaimed director Mahesh Narayanan, the film promises to be a blockbuster spectacle.
While the reunion of the two superstars is making headlines, ‘Patriot’ boasts a star-studded ensemble cast, including the likes of Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, and Nayanthara. The star-studded lineup is further bolstered by the addition of veteran actors Revathi, Zareen Shihab, and renowned cinematographer-director Rajiv Menon.
This film marks the first major collaboration between Mammootty and Mohanlal since the 2008 multi-starrer Twenty20, a reunion that fans have been eagerly awaiting for over a decade.
An equally strong team is in place behind the camera. The film is produced by Anto Joseph and K.G. Anil Kumar. The screenplay and editing are by director Mahesh Narayanan himself, with Rahul Radhakrishnan co-editing. Cinematographer Manush Nandan will create the visual canvas, while the acclaimed Sushin Shyam will compose the music.
While the teaser keeps the plot completely under wraps, it hints at a gripping story with a strong political backdrop. The promise of an “action-packed story” is reinforced by the fact that the production has engaged four different stunt choreographers, indicating a commitment to delivering complex and thrilling action sequences.
Production is currently in full swing. After filming was halted for a while due to Mammootty’s medical break, the veteran actor rejoined the film’s schedule in Hyderabad on October 1. Shooting is still ongoing, so an official release date has not yet been announced. However, the powerful combination of a veteran lead cast, excellent supporting cast, and a proven director has already made “Patriot” one of the most anticipated Indian films.
