Agastya Nanda to play war hero Arun Khetarpal in Sriram Raghavan’s ‘IKKIS'(21)

Agastya Nanda is Set to Feature in Upcoming Film ‘Ikkis’

Following his OTT debut in The Archies in 2024, actor Agastya Nanda is set to star in his first feature film, ‘Ikkis’. Produced by Maddock Films, the film is a biographical drama based on the life of Arun Khetarpal, India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra winner.

The film is directed by Sriram Raghavan, who previously collaborated with Maddock Films in 2015 to make the revenge drama ‘Badlapur’.

The story of a 21-year-old hero

Nanda will play Khetarpal, who was martyred in battle at the age of 21 during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War. The film’s title, ‘ikkis’ (21), is a direct reference to the soldier’s age at the time of his death.

The film’s trailer, which was released on Maddock Films’ social media channels on Wednesday, was shared with the poignant caption: “He was twenty-one, he will remain twenty-one.”

According to the available articles, the trailer provides glimpses into Khetrapal’s life, including:

* His days as a cadet at the National Defence Academy.

* A glimpse of romance.

* His experiences in war.

* A scene where Khetrapal tells his batchmates, “The next Param Vir Chakra of this regiment will be mine.”

Supporting Cast and Production

The film features a strong supporting cast, including veteran actor Dharmendra. He will play Arun’s father, Brigadier K.L. Khetrapal, whose stories of valor are said to have inspired the young man to join the army. “Now he has become a story,” Dharmendra says in the trailer. The cast also includes Jaideep Ahlawat and Simar Bhatia.

Twenty-One is Maddock Films’ second film based on military “true stories.”  His debut film, Sky Force, released earlier this year, set against the backdrop of the 1965 Sargodha air raid, grossed ₹144.2 crore worldwide but reportedly failed to recover its cost. This comes as the production house continues its success with its horror-comedy Duniya, and its latest film, Thamma, reportedly crossed the ₹100 crore mark within a week of its Diwali release.
