Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has secured a massive contract from the Ministry of Defence for the supply of 156 Light Combat Helicopters (LCH), Prachand. The deal, valued at approximately ₹62,700 crore (excluding taxes), marks a significant boost to India’s indigenous defense manufacturing sector.

Under the agreement, HAL will deliver 90 helicopters to the Indian Army and 66 to the Indian Air Force. The contract also includes training and other associated equipment for the operation of the helicopters. This procurement aims to strengthen India’s aerial combat capabilities, particularly in high-altitude warfare.
