Nestle India announces 1:1 bonus shares for investors, shares jump 1%
In a significant move for its investors, the board of directors of Nestle India Limited announced the issuance of bonus equity shares in the ratio of 1:1. The decision was taken during the company’s board meeting on Thursday, June 26, 2025. Following the announcement, the company’s shares closed 1% higher at Rs 2,430 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The bonus issue will entitle each shareholder to receive one additional equity share of face value ₹1 for every fully paid-up equity share of face value ₹1 held by them on the record date not yet announced. The record date to determine the eligibility of shareholders for the bonus issue will be disclosed in due course.
The issue is subject to shareholders’ approval, which will be sought at the Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) to be held through video conferencing on Thursday, July 24, 2025. The bonus shares are expected to be credited to shareholders’ accounts on or before August 25, 2025, within two months from the date of board approval. Along with the bonus issue, the board has also approved a proposal to increase the authorised share capital of the company from ₹100 crore to ₹200 crore. This will accommodate new shares, thereby doubling the paid-up and subscribed share capital from 96,41,57,160 equity shares to 192,83,14,320 equity shares.
