“Sunny Sanskari ki Tulsi Kumari” is facing stiff competition at the box office from the pan-India release of Rishab Shetty’s “Kantara: Chapter 1,” which could lead to a major festival clash. Trade analysts predict a strong opening for SSKTK, with opening day collections estimated at between ₹8 and ₹10 crore. In contrast, “Kantara: Chapter 1” is expected to gross over ₹25 crore on its opening day across all languages.
During promotional events, Varun Dhawan acknowledged the box office competition, saying that the October 2 release date is crucial for the festivals. He expressed confidence that both films could be successful due to their appeal to different audiences, and highlighted their potential to gross around ₹70 crore over the weekend in the Hindi market alone.
Netflix bags OTT streaming rights
For those who prefer to watch the film from the comfort of their homes, the filmmakers have confirmed that “Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari” will have its digital premiere on Netflix. The streaming giant has been announced as the official post-theatrical partner for the film.
While the exact OTT release date has not yet been revealed, it is expected that the film will follow standard industry timelines. The film will release on Netflix approximately eight weeks after its theatrical release, making it likely to arrive on streaming around December 2025.
